Clandeboye Golf Course
Newtownards, County Down
The Dufferin Course at Clandeboye is a highly rated championship course offering arresting views across Belfast Lough and a distinct heathland feel, especially with the gorse is full bloom. Gorse, bracken and trees line every fairway, punishing stray shots with a vengeance. Clandeboye offers a stern challenge with a varied but balanced array of holes.
Clandeboye Course Description
The view from the first tee is the best on the course and after soaking it in the hole is played from a high tee looking towards Belfast Lough.
Hole #4 is a short par-4 - but only the bravest and most skilful will attempt to carry the gorse, heather trees and rough to an elevated green.
The long par-5 sixth hole is one of the best on the course, with all 515 yards visible from the tee framed the entire length by tall trees. Plenty of bunkers and a bisecting stream to think about too.
